Key Account Manager - Retail

As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for initiating and managing relationships with key retail partners, ensuring their needs are met while driving business growth. You will act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, overseeing the development and execution of strategic plans that align with both client and company objectives. Your role involves negotiating contracts, monitoring sales performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize implementation and use of our product. Success in this position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a keen understanding of the retail landscape to deliver exceptional customer service and exceed sales targets.

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key retail accounts to drive customer loyalty and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Create and implement account strategies to achieve business objectives, including sales growth, profitability, and market share expansion.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with retail partners’ needs and expectations.
  • Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with retail partners to ensure mutually beneficial agreements and competitive positioning in the marketplace.
  • Monitor and report on account performance, providing regular updates and insights to senior management.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Support retail partners in training their staff, executing campaigns, and enhancing the customer experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing.
  • At least three years of hands-on Key Accounts and/or Sales experience dealing with senior players in the retail environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to quickly assess challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong negotiation skills to create mutually beneficial agreements, ensuring both the client’s and company’s interests are met.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies that align with both client objectives and company goals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Fast and efficient.
  • Existing retail market relationships are advantageous.
